Hello, I am Lina
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat living in Zurich, Switzerland.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It Began
Moving to Switzerland wasn't in the plan for the long haul. As with many expatriate relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, new expectations. Daily chores felt more cumbersome than they should.
The Adaptation Phase
Culture shock, ambiguity, and a lot of hands-on learning existed. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that suited us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt secure.
Why I Created FrostCraterSerein
Most information on the web was either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was missing was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical guidance grounded in real-life experiences in Switzerland.
What This Site Does (And Doesn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Switzerland
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever there is a real change
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- Not a sponsored-review platform
- Not a generic travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our time in Switzerland continues, and the learning process goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.
If you have questions about family life in Zurich or anywhere in Switzerland, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,
Lina
